Northwest African American Museum

Since opening our doors in 2008, the Northwest African American Museum has evolved into a cultural home where art, learning, and community thrive. NAAM was created to preserve, celebrate, and amplify the stories of people of African descent in the Pacific Northwest, recognizing that these histories are essential to understanding the region itself. Every exhibition, program, and gathering reflects our belief that Black heritage is a source of strength, creativity, and healing for all people.

Today, NAAM stands as a welcoming space where children discover new possibilities, where elders share wisdom and memory, and where visitors of every background can engage with the richness and resilience of Black culture. From youth leadership programs to community festivals, from artist talks to historical exhibitions, NAAM offers experiences that spark curiosity, encourage reflection, and nurture belonging.

When you give to NAAM, you make this work possible. Join us in building a future where heritage is honored, creativity is nurtured, and every person feels seen and valued.
