The tyranny that has been spreading over the land ever since January 20th 2025 must be resisted, and theater can and should be a part of that resistance.
Our performance of “Songs of Resistance” on October 17th, 2026 was highly successful and well attended. The video of that performance can be seen here.
Resistance Theater is off to a flying start, in our efforts to support the resistance to the Trump regime through theater.
On January 19, the Martin Luther King Jr Holiday Monday, we presented our show “An American Pageant” to a nearly sold-out crowd at Seattle Theater Group’s Kerry Hall theater facility on Capitol Hill. We say “nearly sold out” but in fact the over 140 folks who attended the performance made donations for their seats, which in turn were passed along to Common Power and the Northwest African-American Museum, two organizations on the front-lines of the Resistance to the Trump regime. Resistance Theater is very proud to have raised several thousand dollars for these two organizations!
Our performance was also livestreamed, allowing us to reach several hundred additional viewers across the country and even abroad! A recording of the livestream is available on this website and also through our YouTube channel. If you have YouTube on your livestream platform, go there and search for “resistancetheater.com,” and then you can access both recordings and watch them on your TV instead of a laptop screen!
On October 16 through 18, Resistance Theater presented four performances of its new musical revue, “Songs of Resistance,” to audiences who came to our three shows at the Seattle Women’s University Club and to the Edmonds Universal Unitarian Congregation. Prospective patrons could check out our program through video promotions, and you can do the same!

In “Songs of Resistance” our talented cast sang dozens of songs, from American and other countries and cultures, expressing resistance to tyranny in many forms. We again partnered with Common Power, encouraging audience members to get involved in Common Power’s nationwide effort to turn out the vote in critical Midterm Election contests.
We again livestreamed our efforts, broadcasting our final evening performance at the Women’s University Club. This recording is now posted on our website and can also be accessed on our YouTube channel. Please check out this new show to see how song can be harnessed to the cause of resistance to tyranny and the fight for freedom, equality and justice!
