The tyranny that has been spreading over the land ever since January 20th 2025 must be resisted, and theater can and should be a part of that resistance.
Resistance Theater is off to a flying start, in our efforts to support the resistance to the Trump regime through theater.
On January 19, the Martin Luther King Jr Holiday Monday, we presented our show “An American Pageant” to a nearly sold-out crowd at Seattle Theater Group’s Kerry Hall theater facility on Capitol Hill. We say “nearly sold out” but in fact the over 140 folks who attended the performance made donations for their seats, which in turn were passed along to Common Power and the Northwest African-American Museum, two organizations on the front-lines of the Resistance to the Trump regime. Resistance Theater is very proud to have raised several thousand dollars for these two organizations!
Our performance was also livestreamed, allowing us to reach several hundred additional viewers across the country and even abroad! A recording of the livestream is available on this website and also through our YouTube channel. If you have YouTube on your livestream platform, go there and search for “resistancetheater.com,” and then you can access both recordings and watch them on your TV instead of a laptop screen!
Resistance Theater is now in the process of developing a new show, to be presented this coming October. We hope this show will help inspire more of our fellow citizens to get actively involved in the resistance to the Trump regime, including the upcoming Midterm Elections.
